Publisher/ Writer: Yossarian- a captain who doesn't want to fly missions, because of thousand of people are trying to kill him

Editor: Chaplain A.T. Tappman- a gullible Anabaptist minister who is Yossarian's friend. He is easily intimidate, but is kind, gentle, and caring.

Rival: Colonel Cathcart-  the group commander that keeps on raising the amount of missions needed to complete service as to please his superiors. He is very ambitious and desires to become general.

Obituarist: Doc Daneeka- the flight surgeon who is scared of flying. He is Yossarians' friend, but thinks that his military career spoiled his previous, luxurious life.

Sponsor: Milo Minderbinder- the mess officer who runs M&M Enterprises and obsessed with trading and the syndicate where "everybody gets a share.". He is one of Yossarian's friends.

Writer: McWatt- Yossarian's crazy friend who is sane, but likes flying dangerous missions and doing tricks with the bomber.

Writer: Dunbar- Another of Yossarian's friends who likes being bored and when time passes by slowly. He also like skeet shooting.

Writer: General Dreedle- The U.S.Army Air corps Commander of the base in Pianosa. He is a no-nonsense commander who want his men to obey his orders, fight, and die.
